The orchesta comprises 16 different nationalities of musicians who reside in Switzerland leaded by Maestro Rudolf Koelman ,The ZHdK Strings is a young and dynamic ensemble with 16 to 18 of the best students from concert and soloists classes of the distinguished Zurich University

Pro Musica Orchestra performs a program featuring compositions by 2 of Russia's greatest Composers, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Dmitri Shostakovich.
Tchaikovsky's joyful serenade for strings is one of the most beloved pieces of music by concert-goers world-wide. Though Tchaikovsky was a solidly romantic composer, one of his idols was Mozart, whom he once referred to as "the Christ of music". In September, 1880, Tchaikovsky decided to write an orchestral serenade that would serve as an homage to Mozart's own serenades. As he wrote to his patroness, Nadezhda von Meck, "This Serenade, I wrote from inner compulsion. This is a piece from the heart". Later he would tell von Meck, "I am violently in love
